Research Method
The front cover of our OWLS 1 questionnaire
The OWLS study was a two part, mixed-method study where we explored the effects of the pandemic restrictions on people with severe mental ill health. We wanted to know how people had been feeling, whether they had been able to access health services, whether they had received the social support they needed and whether they had been able to use the internet to access essential services.
OWLS 1
We would ask 300 people to complete a questionnaire about their experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic.
We would ask about 20 people who had completed the questionnaire to talk to us in more detail about their experiences.
We would use this information to make recommendations about how people with severe mental ill health could be best supported.
OWLS 2, 3, 4 and 5
Those were going to be our follow-up surveys.
